You may have noticed lately if you have Verizon email that there was a notice to switch to AOL. If you ignored the notice or never received it and you are using an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird, your email might not be working. Verizon purchased AOL and has decided to transition its clients to the AOL email platform. If you find your Verizon email not working, you can contact Verizon for assistance or you can go to webmail.verizon.net. Sign into your account with your username and password. You will then be prompted to setup your email with AOL. Keep the same email address. You can change your password if you like. Just write it down or remember it. Afterwards, you can sign into your email at mail.aol.com. If you wish to continue using your email client as before, open your email client. If you changed the password, add the new password to your email client. If you did not change the password, you should not have to do anything. All the email server settings should be the same and everything will function just as it did before. One benefit to this move is that AOL supports IMAP something that Verizon did not. Although your email client would have to be reconfigured, your email could be saved to a server and downloaded to multiple devices without having a computer or a device delete email from the server.
