Computer Build

Consultation

Payment for the consultation will be required in advance.  The consultation ascertains the needs, wants, and budget of the customer for the computer build.  Based upon this consultation, a list of parts needed to build a computer is compiled.  It generally requires 2 to 3 days to create this list due to the effort involved.  The customer will then have an opportunity to review the build list and make any changes necessary.  Once the customer finalizes the build list, the customer will be given the parts purchase order and will be responsible for procuring the parts.

The Computer Build

Once the parts have been procured and the customer has them in their possession, the parts may be delivered to Nick’s Computer Services or a pickup of the parts may be scheduled.  Upon delivery of the parts, the computer build will commence.  Assembly of the computer generally requires 3 to 4 days.

Included in the computer build:

Cable management of the computer interior.  Installing Windows operating system and drivers.  Antivirus and Microsoft Office software will be installed if purchased with the build.

Not included in the computer build, separate charges apply:

Data transfer, Computer Setup, Cable Management, Installation of other software, Printer Installation, Travel Charges

Payment for the computer build will be required upon pickup or delivery of the computer.  The charges for the build will depend on the cost of the parts purchased and the complexity of the build.  The cost structure is given below.

Tier 1 Build – Standard build

Tier 2 Build – Computer build utilizing CrossFire, SLI, After-Market Air Cooling, RGB, Overclocking, or RAID

Build Quality

The parts selected for the computer build are high-quality parts.  Better quality and performance oriented parts will be more expensive.  Using good parts is important for building a computer that is stable and has a low failure rate.  The parts used for the computer are non-proprietary so that if there was a hardware failure a standardized part could be used to complete a repair.  More than just parts go into a computer build.  The computer is constructed with great care and skill.  Attention to detail and proper construction are required to make a computer that is aesthetically pleasing and functional.  Nick’s Computer Services has years of experience building PCs.  We know how to build it right, and not only can we say it was built in the USA but we can say it was built in Denton, Texas.

Reasons for Building

Although building a computer is more expensive than buying a computer, there are some good reasons to build a computer.  PC manufacturers use low quality parts.  Custom built PCs use higher quality parts and are built to last.  The computer is non-proprietary and easy to service or upgrade.  The computer is built to the specifications of the customer.  Building a computer with Nick’s Computer Services is a personal experience with a knowledgeable representative.  Building a computer with a local computer company promotes Denton business and keeps more money in the community.

Limitations

Nick’s Computer Services does not offer a warranty on the parts used to build the computer.  Since the parts are purchased by the consumer, the consumer is responsible for acquiring a refund or a warranty exchange for the parts with the hardware supplier or the manufacturer of the components.  Any special order parts or software purchased from Nick’s Computer Services is not refundable.  As with any computer, software and drivers not designed to be compatible with the operating system installed can make the machine unstable.  Nick’s Computer Services is not responsible for unstable operation of the computer due to third party software.
